Junior Project Manager, Innovation Centre
Jessica earned her BSc. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Marine Biology at Dalhousie University. She worked as a recruiter in the Oil & Gas and Mining and Metals industry while she was completing her Master’s Degree in Pharmacology. This drew her to explore projects in energy and construction, where she gained experience working in the Pulp and Paper Mill industry, Oil & Gas and the Energy Sector.
The idea of project management piqued her interests and she obtained a certificate in Project Management from Royal Roads University in 2015. Most recently she acted as a Health, Safety and Environment Manager for a drilling company headquartered in Regina, SK. She was able to work on major exploration programs with corporations like ExxonMobil, Imperial Oil and Syncrude.
Hoping to return to her original marine roots, she found her way to ONC and will now be managing several projects at the Innovation Centre. During her spare time Jessica enjoys hiking and the outdoors, cooking, learning about language and culture, traveling, sports and most importantly, spending time her partner Brian and their dog Jack. She is also passionate about social responsibility and is involved with several organization like the SPCA, Red Cross and Best Buddies Canada. She is thrilled to join the team at ONC and to get involved with the exciting projects on the horizon.
