Public Safety Program Manager, Innovation Centre
Teron is an emergency manager and planner dedicated to earthquake and tsunami programs. After earning a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Victoria and working seven seasons as a forest fire fighter in BC’s interior, he earned his Master’s degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University. His final research project focused on the evaluation of earthquake and tsunami mitigation programs in Indonesia. Teron was seismic specialist for Emergency Management BC for three years where he led provincial preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery planning for seismic hazards.
Teron is an excellent public speaker and holds a professional designation in Project Management (PMP). He has lived in Victoria since 2002 and enjoys surfing, rock climbing and being outdoors. His main role at Ocean Networks Canada is to build and maintain relationships with partners and clients of the Smart Ocean™ program in order to identify and document project requirements, analyze potential solutions, and communicate actions taken.
