New CFAO joins Ocean Networks Canada
Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Duc Le to the position of Chief Finance and Administration Officer (CFAO) beginning July 1st, 2012.
Mr. Le brings a distinguished career in senior financial and administrative positions across Canada to strengthen the ONC executive team. Dr. Andrew Bjerring, the ONC Board chair, comments that “the creation of the CFAO position and Mr. Le’s appointment are important steps in enhancing ONC’s capacity to meet its governance and management mandate for one of Canada’s major science facilities. The Board looks forward to working with Mr. Le as he assumes his important strategic and operational leadership role”.
His responsibilities will span the overall direction and administration of internal and external financial, contractual and administrative matters to support the programs and strategic objectives of ONC. These will encompass the many activities of the ONC Observatory (including the VENUS and NEPTUNE Canada networks) and the ONC Centre for Enterprise and Engagement (ONCCEE).
Mr. Le joins ONC from the position of VP Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer with Parkland Regional Health Authority in Manitoba. He has worked with senior officials in government, universities, and the private sector.
A Certified Management Accountant, Mr. Le holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Montreal, and an MSc in Economics and Finance from Queen’s.
