ONC Staff Profile
Youth Science Ambassador - Tsimshian Territory, Prince Rupert, BC, User Services
Taylor Reidlinger excitedly joined Ocean Networks Canada in November 2018 in the role of Youth Science Ambassador. In her role she gets to engage with youths and educators to help people connect with the land and ocean. Taylor enjoys working with people and learning from their unique experiences.
There are endless opportunities to learn from one another and from nature, by bringing together experiential learning, traditional knowledge, and western science. She is passionate about the marine environment and since earning her BSc in Biology at the University of Victoria, has worked as a cetacean researcher, aquarist and naturalist, and on marine resource use research programs.
Taylor is currently working on her Master’s degree in Environment and Management at Royal Roads University. She also works with the North Coast Innovation Lab in Tsimshian territory, based in Prince Rupert, BC. The synergy between her roles excites and energizes her. Originally from Okotoks, AB – Taylor is grateful to call an island in the Northeast Pacific Ocean home. In her spare time, she likes to be in nature: mountain biking, surfing, or otherwise playing, and loves to learn about cultures near and far.
