Bringing extensive experience to AIMS in strategy development, scientific research and stakeholder engagement across a broad research portfolio, John Gunn was Chief Scientist of the Australian Antarctic Program from 2009-2011. Previously, he worked with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) for 29 years, including five years as Deputy Chief of Marine and Atmospheric Research.

Research Interests:
Pelagic fish ecology; for example, understanding the movements, behaviour and stock structure of highly migratory tunas and billfishes, to improve the management of their stocks.
