Bennit Mueller

Scientific Data Specialist, Observatory Operations

Bennit’s primary role is to assist with general duties, drifter and weather station data and getting ONC data sets ready for contribution to the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS).He has a passion for extreme environments like high altitudes and high latitudes and the deep ocean which is part of why he wanted to work at ONC.

​Bennit completed his Masters of Science in Atmospheric Science at the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of Victoria, where he studied sea ice decline due to influences from natural, greenhouse-gas, and anthropogenic aerosol forcing. Previously, Bennit worked with the Arctic Group at the Institute of Ocean Sciences where he worked with ocean surface drifters and underway data from Canadian research vessels.
