On June 18 and 19 two free data workshop sessions, using the statistics application R, were held at the University of Victoria. The workshops featured data from research conducted at Barkley Canyon, off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
The workshops were part of the Ocean Networks Canada/Ecostats data workshop series. (Ecostats is part of the group Ecology@UVic.) The workshop series covers topics of interest to those in the ocean sciences and related disciplines. Last week's workshop participants came from the fields of Marine Ecology, Freshwater Ecology, Statistics and Mathematics.
New data workshop sessions have now been scheduled for July: Introduction to Data Analysis with R (July 9), Mapping the Ocean (July 10), and Time Series Data (July 24). To sign up for the July sessions, visit the Ecostats webpage, and click on the link to the online sign-up form.
