Our colleagues at the University of Washington will set sail from Seattle on 13 July for an extensive and historic expedition to the Northeast Pacific. The VISIONS '14 cruise will pair the Research Vessel Thomas G. Thompson with the remotely operated vehicle ROPOS, for a 7 leg, 83-day expedition to complete deployment of the U.S. Ocean Observatory Initiative's regional-scale, cabled ocean observatory.
Best wishes for gentle weather and happy technology from all of us at ONC. We will be tuning in to the live video streaming from the ship and underwater vehicle. And we encourage everyone to follow the daily action on the VISIONS '14 website and join the conversation @OceanObserving.
