What do historic and current earthquakes and tsunamis in BC teach us?

Earthquakes and tsunamis can be examined through a combination of Indigenous knowledge and scientific monitoring data. Listening to Nuu-chah-nulth knowledge holders provides key information about how people know about and respond to earthquakes and tsunamis.
*The spelling can be either nuučaan̓uł or Nuu-chah-nulth

The Indigenous knowledge in this module comes from members of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations on western Vancouver Island, BC.

Collaboration with the following organizations and individuals made this module a reality: Uu-a-thluk (Taking care of) Fisheries, Darrell Ross Sr. (Tseshaht First Nation), Cliff Atleo Sr. (Ahousaht First Nation), and Tom Happynook Sr. (Huu-ay-aht First Nations).
