YOUTH PROGRAMS K-12
Ship2Shore Program
Offering educators, students & the public the opportunity to connect with ONC at-sea maintenance expeditions & other field activities.

ONC’s Ship2Shore Program offers formal and informal educators, students, and the public the opportunity to connect with ONC at-sea maintenance expeditions and other field activities. Using video conferencing, satellite technology, and social media tools, participants on shore can connect live to discuss ocean science, technology, and life at sea. In some years, when logistically possible, educators may also participate in at sea expeditions where they work alongside scientists, engineers, and technicians, documenting and sharing their experience of a lifetime!

During their time at sea, educators will be responsible for one or more following tasks: writing daily blogs, posting pictures, conducting interviews with ship members, contributing to live telepresence, connecting with classes via video conferencing equipment, and developing marine science lesson plans of their choice.
