Multibeam Non-rotating Sonar
Multibeam non-rotating sonars transmit a pulse at a certain frequency along a number of narrow beams. The sonar processor looks at the return signal for each pulse and decides where along that pulse return time lays the strongest return, giving a single point in space, such as water column depth.
