Fluorometer Crude Oil
Crude oil fluorometers use specific UV wavelengths for excitation. A specialized band pass emission filter is used for detecting a broad range of dissolved oil compounds or emulsions in water.
The carbon structure of the compound will determine its fluorescent properties. The addition of additives will also affect the fluorescence properties of oils. The difference in crude oil fluorescence is primarily due to the refinement process.
