#ONCabyss Summer 2025 Expedition leg 2
Watch the ocean expedition livestream August 2025/September

All aboard the motor vessel (M/V) Canpac Valour for leg 2 of the #ONCabyss Summer 2025 Expedition!

Tune into the deck and deep-sea livestream this August 27 - September 3 as Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) and our partner, Canpac Marine Services, set sail to maintain and service the major seafloor observatory, NEPTUNE (North-East Pacific Time-series Undersea Networked Experiments), off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Dive to depths of 2.6 kilometers below the surface with Canpac’s ‘droid of the deep’– the remotely-operated-vehicle (ROV) Mantis to see the stunning sights of the Endeavour hydrothermal vents, the colourful ecosystem of Barkley Canyon, and more!

Listen to our live marine science broadcast as our onboard engineers, scientists, and data specialists conduct science at-sea. This unique scientific journey will showcase ONC’s cutting-edge ocean research technology, real-time ocean exploration, and deep-sea discovery in action.

Follow us at Bluesky, and Instagram for dive alerts and updates on the live ROV and ocean research expedition.
