EXPEDITION UPDATE, May 28: Scientific research during the #ONCabyss Summer 2025 Ocean Expedition has now concluded. ONC’s ROV operations and livestream will continue later this summer.

Science work aboard the CCGS John P. Tully continued as planned including CTD casts scheduled at Barkley Canyon, Endeavour and Cascadia research sites to calibrate ONC’s sensor systems and support Oceans and Fisheries Canada’s scientific priorities. The collection of gravity cores (sediment samples) for Natural Resource Canada proceeded along with research of hydrothermal vents and spreading centre activity near Endeavour’s hydrothermal vents.
