POST SECONDARY EDUCATION
Instrument Technology Course
Introduction to marine sensor technology including underwater cabled observatories & shore-based coastal weather stations.

Students learn about the diversity of marine sensors, why and how they are used, and the challenges and opportunities presented by operating technology in a marine environment. The course provides opportunities for students to design and test sensor apparatus both in the lab and the field, analyze sensor data, and plan their own field missions. An introduction to basic seamanship also helps students gain some of the skills necessary to work safely in the field.
